Exploring the World Through Art

Sunday at the LouvreMy paintings show people in all their wonderful diversity. People at work or at leisure, alone or connected to others.

One of my themes involves the people encountered in art museums. Some of these are looking at, or perhaps ignoring, works of art.

For many years I have photographed in the United States and Europe, and those photos serve as a point of departure for my paintings.

With camera in hand, I capture images of a given moment. Later, with brushes and paint, I remember and enlarge that moment, reflecting upon the people encountered, the artwork viewed, the places visited, and the joys experienced.
